-In a warehouse 2  different varieties of red wine from the barrel are mixed to obtain an intermediate quality. 

When mixed in the ratio of 3 to 1, the new mixture costs 0.80 € per litre. However, when mixed in the ratio of 2 to 3 the price is 0.856 € per litre. 

Can you find out the price of each variety of wine used in the mixture?

Well, the idea is the same as last year: to prepare a Scrap Book on the Comenius experience. Oh, I see! You don't know what a scrap book is? It is like an album with photos, tickets, maps, realia, diary entries and so on about one of the places visited this year (Geneva, Lüneburg, Valencia). And if you are not one of the lucky ones who travelled to these Comenius destinations, there will also be a small gift for the most creative digital scrap book! But remember: They should be handed to your teachers before the 30th of May, OK?  
AND THE WINNERS IN LIPNÍK ARE:  Ondra Hanousek, Jakub mKlimeš and Honza Kolajta. Congratulations! Three readers will soon be posted 4 U, boys! 

A CLOSE-KNIT FAMILY OF... 60 IN CAMPANAR !!!

It's true that seeing our Comenius Project  drawing to a close, made some of us feel a bit sad but we lived the meeting in Valencia intensely, sharing this life experience like a close-knit family of 60!! 
Students and teachers from Lipník nad Bečvou, Ajka, Lüneburg, and Geneva spent last week with us, the IES Campanar, and like a large family,we worked together and also went sightseeing  and had fun together.
We would first like to thank our guests (headmasters, teachers and students) for coming from such distant places in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Germany and Switzerland.
The Comenius team in Campanar, València, is also most appreciative of the support of the host families, and of the school headmaster and colleagues.  
Five different European countries speaking with only one voice may be an indication of today's and tomorrow's joint Europe sharing a common bond in even closer cooperation.   
That's why we have already planned the next "family reunion" in May to celebrate Europe's Day with a video conference!!    

"NACÍ EN EL MEDITERRÁNEO...."

The students and teachers at all partner schools in the project are probably catching up with the backlog after 5 days away. There will be photos and a lot more in the days to come but the students in Valencia would like to send a message to their already-departed visitors: WISH YOU WERE HERE! Here they are. It looks as if they were singing Spanish songwriter Serrat's song Mediterráneo: "I was born on the Mediterranean..".
As for us the teachers, we also miss you all  (teachers and students). Thanks a lot for coming to our school. More news in a couple of days' OK? Thanks!

LITERARY CONTEST 2011 &

SECOND LEG OF THE MATHS AND EU COMPETITIONS

As announced earlier in December, the second leg of the Maths Competition will restart on the 10th of January and will run for 10 weeks with a new puzzle every fortnight (i.e. 5 puzzles from January to March) for the students who won the previous leg of the contest in their respective countries.
As for the EU competition, it will restart on the 8th of January and will run for ten weeks on a fortnight basis too.

MATHS PUZZLE CONTEST WINNERS IN GERMANY

The winners of the Comenius maths-puzzle contest were awarded their prizes - thanks to the snowfall having stopped so that pupils and teachers in Lüneburg were able to get to school. The three best pupils of our school Gymnasium Oedeme, Lüneburg, are: (from left to right): Swantje Mahncke (9 L): 2nd prize, Philip Luderer-Pflimpfl (9 F): 1st prize and Elena Krey (9 fl 1): 3rd prize.
